On Friday, Google pushed out an emergency security patch to its Chrome browser to address a security flaw.

Tracked as CVE-2021-37973, this vulnerability enables a page to show another page as an inset and "perform a seamless transition to a new state, where the formerly-inset page becomes the top-level document."

How do I update Chrome?
It's possible that Chrome updated automatically for you in the background and this patch may already be installed.

To confirm, click the three vertical dots, on the far right in the menu bar.
  • Click HELP
  • Then About Google Chrome
  • You'll see Chrome search for any available updates.  If one is available, you can follow the on-screen instructions to install it from here. Remember, the new version is 94.0.4606.61.
